Steeped in history and surrounded by meadows and pasture, the Mill sits in a private valley in the heart of the Northumberland countryside and is uniquely positioned as a secluded yet highly accessible retreat.
The Mill is a very family friendly, warm and inviting place to stay. It blends luxury with home comforts and plenty of personality. The large social places on the ground floor are complimented by a huge kitchen, feature dining room, entrance hall and utility room. 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms upstairs are each unique spaces and can be configured in a number of ways to suit.

Ground Floor Accommodation
Living Room
A spacious and relaxing room with plenty of seats in different styles to suit all comfort levels. A roaring log burner and 32” TV.
Library
A quiet space with games table and large desk, plenty of books and board games to play with the sound of the burn outside.
Snug
A cozy space to watch movies and a hidden toy chest transforms this into a great play room. Sofa bed converts into a 6th bedroom
Kitchen
Fully featured with everything you will need for Christmas dinners, Sunday roasts or just a big family breakfast. Range cooker and second oven, dishwasher, Tassimo coffee machine, 2 fridges and freezer. Lovely sash windows and lots of light.
Mill Room
With the old internal Mill workings still intact and a feasting table for up to 16, this is lovely room to celebrate or simply to hide away and enjoy the tranquillity provided by 4ft thick walls!
Hallway & Utility
All the necessities for large family holidays (and often muddy clothes) with washing machine, dryer, second freezer and plenty of bits and pieces to keep things running smoothly. Access straight onto the patio and garden beyond.
Bedrooms
Bedroom 1
With loads of space to stretch out, this makes a great couples suite or family room. Sofas and lovely views over the countryside. Roll top bath and walk-in shower ensuite give it a real feel of private luxury.
Bedroom 2
A smaller bedroom but full of charm, with ensuite toilet and open-plan, roll top bath for romantic soaks. Beautiful large sash windows and an interesting approach to hanging clothes.
Bedroom 3
Spacious King-size bed or twin, with feature chairs on the wall (yes that’s right) and a family bathroom right next door.
Bedroom 4
Large King-size bed or twin, with space for 3rd single bed. Within the old Mill building it has small exposed stone feature and beautiful ensuite shower room.
Bedroom 5
Cosy and quiet at the end of the Mill, double bed with luxurious shower ensuite and blissful tranquillity overlooking the orchard.
Amenities
For kids
We have 2 high chairs, toy chest, games, large playcentre outside, woodland walks, cycle trails and lots of rounded corners! Stair gates are fitted but please use them with care. Blow up beds and travel cots are also available. The kitchen has plenty of children’s cups and plates. If you need anything else please let us know.
Safety
A full safety guide is in the Mil (please read it upon arrival). Smoke detectors are fitted throughout (Strictly no smoking) and fire extinguishers are located in the kitchen and on the landing. Please supervise all children outside, especially on the play centre and near the pond & streams. The driveway is not gated to the road, although this is a quiet country lane.
Wifi and Entertainment
The Mill has very fast fibre broadband throughout the building and so you can log in to a range of on-demand tv services. A Freeview box is provided in the living room and a Netflix account is set up for guests including a kids profile. There are plenty of board games too.
Outside Space & Storage
There is a large enclosed private garden with patio (seating for 12+), woodland walks, pond and stream (enclosed), BBQ, play centre and beautiful views of surrounding countryside. Guests are allowed to walk on the land as long as sensible precautions are taken and animals are kept under control at all times. There is a covered rear porch with drying hooks, hose pipe, bench for clearing the muddy clothes and wellies! Secure cycle hooks allow you to lock your bikes for safety.
Parking & Cycles
The main driveway of the Mill can accommodate up to 5 cars. If you need to bring more please let us know.
